Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d)
LOCATION: Vienna
THE CHALLENGE:
We are looking for a Data Backend Engineer at our Vienna office with great communication skills working as a team player and a self-starter. The ideal candidate should bring three or more years of experience to the team. You are part of a team that is developing and managing Sportradar’s digital advertising technology group setup. Within the self-organized, agile software development team, you play an active role in building Sportradar’s technical foundation in advertising technology and developing new, advertising-based business models for Sportradar.
THE CHALLENGE:
- Develop a radically new product based on advertising technology in one of the fastest-growing businesses in the intersection between media and sports
- Building highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems, enhancing our core infrastructure, and contributing to projects outside your team
- Dealing with Big-Data and serving Machine Learning insights in a real-time
- Become part of a new development team working with the cutting edge cloud technologies (AWS native) in a very dynamic environment where Artificial Intelligence and data is what sells
- Take on responsibility and play an active role in shaping Sportradar’s advertising strategy and help to build up a radically new business model
- Coach team in architecture and technology decisions Coach and develop junior colleagues
- Understand the product requirements and make sure technology and architecture employed can support product requirements
YOUR PROFILE:
Must-haves:
- Experienced in software engineering processes, tools, methods, test development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar or relevant working experience
- 4+ years of industry experience in implementing and operating scalable, distributed software systems
- Proficient in multiple programming languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Python, Go, ...)
- Experience working in a mix of Cloud and/or Enterprise data center environments Hands-on experience with AWS
Nice to haves:
- AWS experience like DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, Spark on EMR
- Understanding and experience with Big-Data and Distributed Systems concepts
- Familiarity with containerization and workflow automation
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar AWS certifications (AWS Developer / AWS Solution Architect, AWS Data Analytics, or any other)
- Digital marketing know-how in conversion-heavy industries Experience with Scrum-based development

For this position, we offer an attractive salary in line with the market. For legal reasons, we are obligated to state the minimum salary of EUR 35,000 gross/year according to the CBA. However, you can expect a salary starting from EUR 55,000 gross/year if you meet our requirements (based on full-time employment). Depending on your qualifications and experience, an overpayment can be offered
